DIY Radiance Face Cleanser

Homemade radiance face cleanser, made with simple clean ingredients, to nourish, cleanse, and pamper your skin. Many traditional face cleansers in the stores contain harsh chemical ingredients that strip the skin and contain compounds that are known endocrine disruptors. You can easily make a face wash at home and feel great about the ingredients. Honey has been used for skincare since ancient times, as a beauty and care treatment.

This cleanser is light, yet nourishing, and is good for a variety of skin types. I use face wash once a day with warm water, during my night skin routine, to wash the day off. This skin cleanser should be stored in a place away from direct heat or sunlight, for the best results.

What you will need:

• A bottle that is at least 8oz. I like to use bottles with a pump for my face wash, for ease of use.

• 3 tablespoons distilled, filtered, or well water. Tap water is a last resort because it contains harsh chemicals and is a breeding ground for bacteria when left to sit.

• 1/3 cup of raw honey. Raw honey is preferable because it contains the most skin healing and nourishing benefits.

• 1/3 cup castile soap of your choosing. I recommend baby unscented, peppermint, or tea tree castile soap. If you skin is very dry, you could try cutting the castile soap in half, and replacing the other half with aloe.

• 2 tablespoons of a nourishing oil. I recommend jojoba, sweet almond, or apricot kernel oil.

• Funnel

• Measuring cups

• Essential oils are optional. I would avoid intense oils on the face like cinnamon, oregano, clove, and citrus oils. You only need a few drops in this recipe.

Directions:

• Starting with your water, add the water to your bottle.

• Next, add the castile soap and honey.

• Add your nourishing oil.

• Add essential oils If you choose.

• Shake well until honey is distributed.

• Rub onto wet skin and rinse off with warm water or damp face towel. Pat dry.

• Be radiant!
